Swedish innovation at the forefront
The leading European trade fair for energy and water technology, E-world Energy & Water, starts tomorrow in Essen Germany. 14 Swedish cleantech companies will join the Swedish Pavilion in Hall 5, stand 5A115.
Sweden is known for its strong capacity for innovation, contributing to its competitiveness in the global market and creating new job opportunities. The country has been the birthplace of several groundbreaking innovations that have had a significant impact on people's lives.
With a growing number of companies focused on cleantech solutions, Sweden continues to play a role in the green transition, where innovation through new technologies and services is key to shaping the future.
The Swedish Energy Pavilion at E-world Energy & Water pays tribute to decades of groundbreaking innovations, courtesy of Swedish innovative power. From 11-13 February, 14 Swedish cleantech companies will showcase the latest innovative energy solutions.
– Swedish innovation has always been at the forefront of change, transforming challenges into opportunities. Swedish innovation has shaped our daily lives with inventions like the gamma knife, seatbelt, and pacemaker, each transforming the way we live for the better. Today, 14 Swedish cleantech companies are continuing that legacy, offering solutions that will make our lives smarter, more energy-efficient, and sustainable for generations to come, says Therese Lindbom, business developer at The Swedish Energy Agency.
Germany is a large and important trading partner. Due to its central location, Germany acts as a strategic gateway not only to Sweden but also to the rest of Europe. The demand for cleantech solutions in Germany is fuelled by ambitious renewable energy targets, a commitment to reducing reliance on fossil fuels, and the challenge of advancing infrastructure.
Sweden leading the way in decarbonizing the Heating and Cooling sector
As the Sustainable Heating & Cooling by Sweden (SHC) program makes its debut in Germany, this year’s Future Forum in Hall 5 on February 12 will focus on showcasing how Sweden is leading the way in decarbonizing the heating and cooling sector. SHC aims to foster cross-border collaboration and accelerate the development and implementation of sustainable heating and cooling solutions across Europe and beyond.
The session will highlight innovative strategies, sustainable district heating, waste heat recovery, and energy optimization techniques. Experts will address key challenges and share solutions, followed by a Q&A session to encourage collaboration on the future of sustainable heating.
– Sweden has been developing solutions in heating and cooling since the early 1900s, with district heating systems emerging in the 1940s. Today, Sweden is working to decarbonize the sector as part of its commitment to the green transition. By investing in energy-efficient systems, waste heat recovery, and sustainable technologies, Sweden aims to contribute to a more sustainable and energy-efficient future, says Paul Westin senior business developer at The Swedish Energy Agency.
About Sustainable Heating & Cooling by Sweden
SHC by Sweden was initially introduced in 2017 to support cross-border collaboration to accelerate the development and implementation of sustainable heating and cooling solutions in the UK. In 2023, activities were extended to markets beyond UK and France to facilitate sustainable heating and cooling solutions around Europe and across the world.
The program is owned and financed by the Swedish Energy Agency and implemented by Business Sweden (The Swedish Trade and Invest Council).
