Impact Innovation: Urgent challenges within Swedish Metals & Minerals
Now you can receive funding for urgent challenges within the Swedish Metals & Minerals program, which is part of Impact Innovation – an initiative of the Swedish Energy Agency, Formas and Vinnova.
The aim of the call is to provide solutions to meet urgent challenges within the programme Swedish Metals & Minerals.
By funding short thematic research and innovation projects, the program will strengthen Sweden's capabilities within some of the program's technical focus areas.
What can you apply funding for?
You can apply funding for project funding within the following four themes:
- Access to critical raw materials from Sweden.
- Increased use of scrap and other secondary raw materials.
- Sustainable water treatment in the mining and metal production sectors.
- Reduced environmental impact from large waste streams in the mining and metal production sectors.
Who can apply?
The Swedish Energy Agency is by this call addressing:
- companies (legal entities)
- public sector
- universities
- research institutes non-governmental organizations.
All applications must consist of at least three organizations, of which at least one shall be a company with operation in Sweden, and at least one must be a research organization (university or research institute). To facilitate rapid implementation or use of project results, a need owner must be included in the project as partners or, for example, in the project's reference group. By need owner we mean organizations that benefit from and can implement the project's results.
Important dates
Decisions on which projects that will be granted funding will be made in November 2025. The projects must start between November 15 and December 1.
