Electric truck success despite Arctic coldIn 2018, Boliden initiated a pilot project with electrified transport in the Aitik mine in Norrbotten. A 700-metre electric trolley line was installed, and four mine trucks were converted for electric operation. The pilot project was successful and its evaluation resulted in the expansion of the Aitik system.

One sun collector every six minutes means a ranking as world leaderWith a worldwide sphere of activity, the Absolicon company from Härnösand has moved into a top position with an invention that concentrates sunlight and generates steam and heat up to 160 degrees. The business idea is to sell robotic production lines that can mass produce the concentrating solar collectors. The robots produce one solar collector every six minutes.

New partnership will establish international cooperation for higher climate ambitionThe Swedish Energy Agency and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) has signed a cooperation agreement to launch a 3-year partnership with the aim to create international climate cooperation between Sweden and some of GGGI’s partner countries. This type of cooperation can enable the increased climate ambitions that are needed to reach the goals of the Paris Agreement.
