How the invasion of Ukraine affects the Swedish energy markets

The invasion has impacted the European energy markets, causing energy prices to rise, affecting Swedish energy consumers.

Electricity 

The Swedish Energy Agency’s assessment is that the supply of electricity in Sweden is stable. Nonetheless, Sweden will have rising electricity prices. The invasion of Ukraine affects the European energy markets, causing increased prices on gas, coal, and oil. 

Gas 

There is currently no acute risk of gas shortage or disturbance in the gas supply. There is however a strained delivery situation of gas in Europe, which could eventually lead to a shortage or disruption of the supply in Sweden.

Oil and fuel 

The global oil price has been rising as the security situation has deteriorated, especially after Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Sweden is affected by market prices on fuel and a tightening global supply.
